Urban areas face tremendous challenges today, economically, socially and morally.  Growing high school drop out rates, high unemployment and crime rates, accompanied with out of bound promiscuity and teenage pregnancy are particularly affecting our youth and young adults, and they are most in need of a vehicle for change.

At A.C.T.I.O.N. Cooperative for Human Development (ACFHD), a non-profit, non-sectarian 501(c)3 community social service organization, we seek solutions through hard work, learning and sacrifice, in an environment that affords participants the opportunity to learn and address the “WHY” of problems (THE CAUSES) through everyday hands on experience of working with self and others. We also provide ways to implement solutions for change through choices and action.

A.C.T.I.O.N provides opportunities to work on projects and programs that will help develop leadership, particularly among our youth and young adults,  to build and serve communities and manage the processes and systems that will produce true economics and education for ourselves and future generations.  As a self funded organization and voluntary effort, A.C.T.I.O.N. relies on revenue from the sale of goods through our service learning vehicles, currently The People’s Warehouse and the A.C.T.I.O.N. Upscale Community Thrift Store Online (AUCTSOnline).

At A.C.T.I.O.N. we acknowledge that it is people, not money that is our most valuable asset and resource.  Our goal is to develop mutually beneficial relationships (WE), over individual material interests (I).  We are determined to continue to demonstrate the change that people can bring about working together in Unity!  We invite you to BE INVOLVED!
